Spel Antwerpen

The biggest boardgames fair of Belgium will take place at the end of November.
Unfortunately I was unable to register in time, showing my prototype will have to happen next year.

But that won’t stop me from checking out the expo!
Hopefully I’m able to meet a variety of interesting people who can help me in some way to further develop DwarvenKing.

How exciting!

Spiel Essen

SPIEL Essen is the world's largest public fair for board games, held annually in Essen, Germany.
It is a major event where fans can discover thousands of new game releases,
try out games, meet game designers, and connect with other gamers.

What happens at the event

  • Discover new games:

Thousands of new board games, from major publishers to independent creators, are unveiled and sold for the first time.

  • Try games:

Visitors can play games directly at the exhibitor booths, with "explainers" available to teach the rules.

  • Meet creators:

Authors and designers are often present to sign their works and meet fans.

  • Buy games:

The event is a massive marketplace for both new and classic games, including many special editions.

  • Community and networking:

It's a hub for passionate players to meet, share their love of gaming, and build community connections.

  • Industry events:

There are also specific industry events, such as the Golden Demon painting competition.

This will be my first time visiting SPIEL and I can’t wait for it. Hopefully one day, DwarvenKing can be played at SPIEL but for that to happen we still have quite some work to do. Let’s dive into the madness that is SPIEL and experience it first hand!

Spellenfestival Genk

Spellenfestival Genk

In search for testplayers, I need to reach a larger crowd.
What better way to do so then attending a boardgame fair with my prototype?
Spellenfestival Genk offers just that to renowned boardgame publishers, shops, distributers but also to prototypers just like myself.

Presenting your prototype is always a bit scary, but it truly is the only way to make your game better.
This was a great way to connect with boardgame enthusiasts.
While I was initially quite nervous for my first fair, I’m really happy I signed up.
I’ve met some great people and got some fantastic feedback!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, I hope you had as much fun as I had!
